The 1st National Namibia Mathematics Olympiad took place. Registration were open from November 01/17 2022 and concluded itself with the Award Ceremony on March 17th, 2022(FOR MORE INFORMATIONS. |

"The NMO was hosted by the
National Commission on Research, Science and Technology in
collaboration with the Namibia Ports Authority, the
Petroleum Training and Education Fund, the Embassy of
Italy in Pretoria, the London Mathematical Society, the
Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, the University of
Namibia and the Namibia University of Science and

here for the full report) The Ceremony saw the distinguished participation of the Italian Embassy in pretoria, with the participation of the Deputy Chief of Mission Mrs. Silvia Marrara and of Professor Frank Neumann, Chair of the project "Mentoring African Researchers in Mathematics", sponsored by the London Mathemtaical Society, the International Mathematical Union and the African Millennium Mathematics Science Initiative. A very important feature is that the event was substantially supported by Petrofund and Namport, companies which revealed their awareness of the importance of mathematics for the future technological developments. |
Young aspiring
mathematicians were encouraged to apply and taking up the
challenge. Who among you will be the first Namibian
Field Medalist?
